Six Emmy® Awards for Downton Abbey

Many congratulations to our friends at Carnival Films/NBCUniversal who will return to the UK with six Emmy® Awards following the glittering ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday 18th September.

The first series of Downton Abbey, which aired on ITV1 HD last year, won the Outstanding Mini-Series category against nominees including Mildred Pierce, The Kennedys and The Pillars Of The Earth.

Julian Fellowes was presented with the Emmy® Primetime Award for Outstanding Writing for a Mini-Series, Movie or Dramatic speical.

Brian Percival was recognised for Outstanding Directing.

Maggie Smith took the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in her role as Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham.

The production team were also awarded for Outstanding Cinematography and Outstanding Costumes.

The second series of Downton Abbey started post production at Timeline’s Ealing facility at the end of February and episode one coincidently aired on ITV1 HD on Sunday 18th September too.
