Senior Production Coordinator (Broadcast) - Cardiff

About the Role

Timeline TV is looking to recruit a Senior Production Coordinator to work across a portfolio of projects on an initial short-term contract with the potential for the role to lead to a full-time position.

As a Senior Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for booking staff and coordinating resources through the Xytech MediaPulse scheduling system. This is a client-facing administrative role that requires an organized, detail-focused, and independently resourceful individual with excellent communication skills.

Main Duties

  • Responsible for the rota’s of current Timeline Television staff ensuring they are scheduled where and when required for operational needs, also taking into consideration that they require a good work/life balance
  • You will also be responsible for booking freelancers/contractors in a variety of technical support roles using the Xytech MediaPulse scheduling system
  • You will be proactive in resolving issues, and in escalating problems to the Timeline management team
  • You will arrange staff training days if applicable, shift shadowing and quality control procedures for new freelance staff
  • Contact and book freelancers in line with finance tax and employment status guidelines
  • Expand our freelancer lists and assist with the induction of new contractors
  • Ensure that all personal data is managed to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  • Provide general administrative support and financial oversight as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Our preference is for someone with experience in a similar role within a Live Broadcast; Outside Broadcast; Post-Production; Studio Production or Channel Management environment
  • It is essential that you are able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • You must have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • It is critical that you have excellent communication skills (telephone, email, and face to face)
  • Should be comfortable with financial administration
  • Should have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Previous experience of booking freelancers is essential
  • Previous experience of Xytech MediaPulse, or a similar resource scheduling system (e.g. ScheduALL, Provys or Farmers Wife) is highly desirable
  • Experience of using Excel in a working environment is crucial
  • Demonstrate tact and sensitivity when dealing with other cultures
  • Able to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from staff and clients.
  • Able to answer occasional phone calls outside of standard office hours if required
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
