Volvo Ocean Race Poses Global Challenge for Timeline

February 13th, 2012

Timeline’s innovative technical facilities in use on the Volvo Ocean Race have been featured in the latest SVG (sports video) ezine (see here for the full article). Timeline have provided host broadcaster IMG Sports Media with turnkey production and edit systems for this global event, in which the six team boats will sail 39,000 nautical miles, passing through 10 cities in 9 months.

The end to end solution involves two roaming cameras, two radio camera chase boats and a heli-tele as well as the fixed shore cameras which are fed back into the production & sound control rooms. EVS for replays, 3D and 2D graphics and FCP edit suites complete the line-up.

The regatta arrives in Sanya, China this week, affording the sleep and food deprived crews some well earned rest, whilst Team timeline are hard at work providing coverage of this unique spectacle.
