Open Sandwich on the Menu for Global Broadcasters This Week.

Timeline are once again serving up an end-to-end server system for a party of global broadcasters at this year’s Open Championship at Royal St. Georges in Sandwich.

All televised play, as well as a delicious selection of isolated cameras, PSC material and studio output feeds are logged on the EVS IPDirector platform and combined with an official scoring data feed to allow producers, editors and transmission operators instant access to coverage of all four days play.

20 terminals are installed between 2 international broadcasters across the site, requiring lightning-fast delivery of media to numerous edit and playout systems including Avid Interplay, Apple XSan and standalone Final Cut Pro edit suites, EVS LSM networks as well as WAV delivery for radio.

Additionally, Timeline are providing on-site Final Cut Pro edit and media encoding facilities for event organisers The R&A and their production partner IMG Media.

Highlights are edited as the action unfolds throughout the day, and encoded for immediate delivery to internet and mobile platforms via the R&A website and syndicated content partners worldwide.

The 2011 Open Championship with Timeline Television promises once again to be a sporting highlight, as well as a technical taste sensation!

Bon Appetit!
