About the Role
Timeline Television are looking for a knowledgeable Sustainability Manager, this is a new role within the business. The successful candidate should be able to understand all aspects of environmental sustainability and will be responsible for the project management of environmental deliverables and driving change throughout the organisation.
This position is a ‘midweight’ role and reaches across environmental compliance requirements, covering issues such as management and tracking of energy usage, site operations, waste disposal to procurement/ value chain analysis as well as sustainable ways to deliver our services.
There is significant scope for professional development and progression with this position as our company continues to develop its environmental compliance and this role will involve working with external environmental consultants.
Main Duties
- Working with consultants, you will be driving change, development, and delivery of Timeline’s environmental sustainability strategy
- Promote and explain environment targets to wider stakeholders
- Collate data from all departments for carbon mapping and measuring
- Introduce policies to wider teams, create presentations, workshops, and training materials for staff engagement and communications campaigns
- Liaison across Timeline’s different offices and operations to improve environmental impacts, working with property, procurement, production, IT and HR
- Collection, organisation, and retention of compliance paperwork
- Liaise with consultants to enable ease of carbon mapping, and implementation of EMS
- Work with consultants to review and analyse environmental data (such as water energy and waste) to identify areas of focus for improvement
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A good knowledge and understanding of general environmental issues and how these issues relate to the workplace
- Some understanding of building an Environmental Management System (EMS), or how sustainability is managed operationally within a business
- An understanding or experience of broadcast, and digital and production, post-production landscape
- Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline and/or demonstrable, significant work-based experience
- Excellent IT skills and willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work between consultants and senior management
- Strong interest in executing new initiatives to drive the environmental agenda
- Familiarity with frameworks such as sustainable development goals and various reporting requirements and EMS standards would be an advantage
This is an office hours-based role. Normally this will be Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.30 but the successful candidate will occasionally need to be flexible to suit the needs of Timeline and its clients.
