Project Manager - Outside Broadcasts

About the Role

You will work with a team of engineering subject matter experts who will provide the engineering insight and support them to deliver each project to time, cost and quality. You will be the consistent point of contact for all stakeholders in each project, both customers and suppliers. You will work for an organisation who constantly innovate to ensure they meet the technical demands of their clients. Therefore, in addition to a proven record in project delivery, you must possess excellent interpersonal skills in this client facing role.

Main Duties

  • Managing multiple projects across clients and disciplines
  • Owning the project plan and ensuring consistent communication of status
  • Documenting and communicating the project timeline and scope to all stakeholder groups
  • Managing defined project budgets, ensuring the correct allocation of spend
  • Managing project change, scope and budget
  • Forecasting capital spend of active projects across fiscal year
  • Define stakeholder groups, ensure level of communication is agreed and maintain consistent internal and external communication
  • Work with Project Engineers and Engineering Leads to ensure the translation of high-level design to low level design through to execution
  • Work with our finance team to ensure that records of any R&D are maintained and submitted
  • Lead Project Team to ensure:
    • Definition of customer requirements
    • Documentation of detailed design, planning, procurement of resources and equipment and communication of project plan, scope, and timeline for execution
    • Good workload management, time management and transparent task prioritisation
    • Rigorous change control
    • Monitoring and reporting in place
    • Creation and execution of test plans in conjunction with operations and all engineering support departments
    • Regular status reports for management, charting progress to plan
    • Single point of ownership for issues impacting project
  • Working with Senior Management, ensure the delivery is in alignment with Timeline’s policies
  • Excellent client relations management – relied upon to communicate status of a portfolio of projects for multiple clients
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure correct allocation of resource and learnings are applied

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Must have extensive project management experience, this does not necessarily have to be in a broadcast environment
  • Recognised professional project management certification (APM/Prince or PMP)
  • Experience applying an Agile approach to project delivery would be advantageous
  • Be an enthusiastic influencer of people, developing skills and imparting high standards
  • Experience of providing clear documentation of projects, repairs, and upgrades
  • A positive, enthusiastic manner with the ability to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from production staff and clients
  • Customer awareness and good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to deliver without supervision
  • Able to monitor and report on the progress of tasks in a constructive and appropriate manner
  • Being technically astute and inquisitive may be beneficial
  • Experience of leading a team

This is a Monday to Friday role which will require some flexibility to meet position needs.

Contract: Permanent / Full Time
