The oldest and most prestigious major championship in tennis, which has a worldwide audience of nearly two billion viewers across 200 countries.

Since 2007 Timeline has provided a large host broadcaster IP Director solution for the Wimbledon tournament. The service we provide has grown year on year and 2011 will see an HD IP DIrector system with over 50 terminals servicing all of the major broadcasters onsite at SW19.
At the heart of the system 16 HD EVS XT2s record all the televised courts. Every point is logged on IP Director in a dedicated logging room. These logs combine live statistical information from the on-court scoring system and producer-entered subjective classification.
Browsing IP Director terminals can then be used by all the broadcast partners to find any tournament action and to either send the media to their chosen edit platform or to their transmission servers.
Among these clients, IMG use the system to produce the world feed nightly highlights programme. The BBC also use the system to enhance the continuous live coverage across their two major networks and compile the Today at Wimbledon highlights offer.
In 2011 the system will offer extensive fully logged archive from the 2007-2010 tournaments. This archive is completely searchable and gives instant access to all games from those years, making a real difference to turnaround times and giving more choice to producers.
All media is backed up to removable storage for redundancy and when the tournament is over, forms Wimbledon’s permanent digital archive.
Timeline TV provide full installation, training, on-site editing and support throughout the tournament and set the standard for tapeless workflows on major sporting events.
