Timeline provides post-production on The Dumping Ground

February 1st, 2018

Timeline Television has once again performed the finishing post-production on CBBC’s series The Dumping Ground.

The BAFTA award-winning programme The Dumping Ground, now in its sixth series, is a children’s comedy drama that focuses on the lives and experiences of young people growing up in care. Timeline is proud to have provided online, grade, audio dubbing and delivery from its state-of-the-art facilities in MediaCityUK.

Colourist Trevor Brown graded The Dumping Ground for the third time using DaVinci Resolve with advanced control panels. The show has always boasted a “warm and safe feel” on screen, and this look was maintained this time around.

As well as balancing the quickly changing weather conditions encountered in the North East of England, where The Dumping Ground was shot by DoP Steve Buckland, there was also the matter of matching Arri Amira and GH-5 material, often intercut in the same scene to great effect.

Additionally Dubbing Mixer Dan Piggott completed the audio work, combining production dialogue with ADR recorded on location and in Timeline’s facilities in MediaCityUK and Soho. Piggot also provided sound effects editing and sound design for the live-action and animated elements.

Finally the online, completed by Siôn Roberts, added the final layer of visual effects and graphics to round off an exceptionally high-standard production.

The Dumping Ground series 6 is now airing on CBBC.
