Timeline Television North Moves into the Cloud with Aframe

October 28th, 2013

Timeline Television North has become a certified Aframe upload partner, the international cloud-based media management provider. Timeline North is now able to offer an exclusive and secure upload base at MediaCity UK, with the ability to ingest large amounts of media and push it to Aframe’s cloud network, at full resolution. Aframe Upload Partners offer production companies a convenient and simple method of transferring video content to Aframe’s cloud platform.

Once on the cloud network, Aframe generates a low-res proxy which can be viewed on their web-interface, allowing productions to browse, log, sub-clip, annotate, organise and download their rushes using any internet device. The metadata can also be transferred to a chosen edit platform for fast streamlined editing. Aframe also offers multi-layered security, ensuring the client’s account and media are protected without fail.

For Timeline North this collaboration enables them to provide an online viewing and logging platform for the wide range of large and complex projects they do. Their clients now have a simple and convenient way to access all their full-resolution media files anywhere in the world, securely.

Eben Clancy, Post Production Director for Timeline North, said, “We use a number of different cloud media storage services but they’re limited in capacity and functionality. With Aframe, we can quickly transfer rushes to London, while providing a secure back-up and allowing the rushes to be viewed and logged, this ticks a lot of boxes for us.”

This service is already proving popular with clients such as The BBC and thanks to their partnership, Timeline North also acts on Aframe’s behalf for existing users who require fast and secure uploads from MediaCity UK.
