Timeline enjoyed a Sunday sport feast, broadcasting four live, multi-channel events over 24 hours.
This weekend saw the climax of ‘La Vuelta 2013’ as the Cyclists powered through to the finishing line in Madrid. Beginning in Galicia three weeks ago Timeline have covered each stage of the race, producing a daily one-hour highlights show for ITV4. Receiving pictures from our dedicated satellite downlinks, the Ealing based team packaged the shows together, inserting live commentary and presentation sequences shot in Timeline’s studio. The highlights were then broadcast from our transmission gallery.
As ‘La Vuelta’ reached its exciting conclusion Timeline were cycling in tandem as we began coverage of ‘The Tour of Britain’. Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Britain’s most high profile tour to date sees Timeline cover each stage of the eight-day race. Beginning in Scotland and returning to London for the iconic finish in Whitehall, Timeline ensure our International clients are kept on track with Britain’s best ever cycle race. Utilizing the latest in tight turn-around broadcast technology our edit team produce an International version to be played-out from our Ealing Broadcast Centre.
It’s not all pedal-power for Timeline as we took to the road again on Sunday for the world’s biggest half marathon. Working with Film Nova we were delighted to bring ‘The Great North Run’ to BBC2. All of the live material recorded via our server system was cut over the course of the day to a produce a compilation of highlights, this was then pushed back to EVS for transmission from our gallery in readiness for the afternoon broadcast on BBC2. In addition to this, Timeline distributed a live international feed for Broadcasters.
This is not where the story ended for Timeline as we also turned Quarterback delivering live NFL action to Channel 4. As the American football teams battle it out in a bid to make the 2013 Super Bowl showdown, a game from the States is being broadcast every Sunday night on Channel4. Timeline scored a touchdown delivering Live US feeds and Live Studio action of the NFL play-offs, thus completing an action-packed Sunday of Sport.
